Support our Cause
Venmo: @kickingouttransphobia
“Kicking Out Transphobia is a community project formed solely for charitable, educational, and outreach purposes. Our mission is to foster trans and gender-expansive inclusion in national and international sports, especially soccer competitions. We aim to create community-based missions and safe spaces for the trans and nonconforming community to play sports, particularly soccer. The first event was hosted at Philadelphia in 2020, currently we host soccer, educational and social events in 9 differents cities of United States and Mexico.
WHO IS BEHIND THE PROJECT?
Our project is 100% volunteer-run by various nonprofit organizations. We know our stories need to be heard, which is why we have a special group of trans grassroots soccer players who express their voices and contribute ideas for the project.
WHY SUPPORT TRANS RIGHTS?
According to the Human Rights Campaign (HRC), there were at least 50 deaths of trans and nonconforming people in the U.S. during 2023. The United States ranks third in the world for trans people who are violently killed, following Brazil and Mexico. In 2023, anti-trans bills continued to be introduced across the country, with many legislations seeking to block trans people from receiving basic healthcare, education, legal recognition, and the right to publicly exist. In the United States alone, 567 bills were introduced, spanning 49 states, with 83 passing, 359 remaining active, and 125 failing.
This hostile environment makes many trans people reluctant to participate in sports due to fear of rejection. Events like ours aim to bring trans and other communities together for a good cause. For example, when we started the project in Philadelphia, we had no participants who identified as trans. By 2023, we had full teams of trans players and over 100 trans and nonconforming players in a single event. We hosted in Las Vegas the first all trans players event and in 2025 we are planning to put the first All Trans Players in the soccer tournament.
HOW KOT HELP TO KICK TRANSPHOBIA?
Bringing community together to support trans people, all our events donate all the funds back to the community. In 2023 we donated $3300 in Philadelphia, $2000 in Washington DC.
More than 8 events in different cities, with presence in Pennsylvania, California, Nevada, Washington DC, Seattle Washington, Mexico.
